L AYRISSE, LINARES, AND ROCHE in 19651 demonstrated that there is a reduction in the survival of radiochromium ( 51Cr) and di-iso-pro-pylfluoro-phosphonate (32DFP)-tagged red cells from subjects with marked iron deficiency anemia#{176} associated with hookworm infection. They observed that these erythrocytes also had a short survival when they were injected in normal recipients and nearby normal survival in splenectomized subjects.
